The EV3 Infrared Sensor is a single-piece electronic component designed for use with the Lego Mindstorms EV3 robotics system. Released in 2013, this sensor allows robots to detect infrared signals and measure proximity to nearby objects. It adds a new layer of interactivity to EV3 builds by enabling remote control functionality when paired with the Infrared Beacon.
