Twenty-five years after Shrek first stomped into theaters and rewired an entire generation's sense of humor, the franchise is finally getting the LEGO treatment. The LEGO Group and Universal Products & Experiences have revealed two sets marking the first time Shrek has ever appeared in brick form, and they're available for pre-order right now.

Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots (72423)
The bigger of the two is clearly built with adult fans in mind. Set 72423 gives you brick-built Shrek and Donkey as posable figures on a swamp base, complete with the classic "Beware Ogre!" sign, sunflowers, an onion, and a blue flower with red thorns. Puss in Boots comes along as a minifigure, which is a fun size contrast. The headline detail is a hidden Easter egg tucked inside Shrek's gut, which is exactly the kind of thing that makes a display piece worth showing off.

You get Shrek, Donkey, and Gingy the Gingerbread Man, all with character-specific details like Shrek's signature ears, Donkey's cheeky smile, and Gingy's icing buttons. A "Beware Ogre" sign ties it back to the swamp setting.
At 259 pieces and aimed at ages 10+, this one works well as a gift or an entry point for younger fans who grew up watching the films with their parents. The character selection is solid: Gingy in particular is a great pick for a set this size.
